Between the Covers - What’s Important
June 4th, 2007
“The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who cannot read them.” - Mark Twain
We can learn about a person by the books they’ve read. I believe we can understand a person even better by learning which books have changed them and changed their view of themselves and the world.
I believe books offer readers a conversation, a story which, at the time of the reader’s choosing can be deferred or re-ignited with someone whom they may never meet, but has brought the reader to a previously unknown landscape in the territory of their life.
So ask people what they’ve read or are now reading and in turn find out a little about where they’ve been, where they’re going and what’s really important to them.
Oh and by the way, what have you read lately?
